Few days ago Martina post a comment on my site… I became curious from the name of her blog so I went for a peek and I have to say her website is really cute.

But that’s not the only thing… if you visit her site you will find some very interesting and useful idea for Christmas. If you like sewing as I do and you are always searching for interesting ideas and tutorilas, you might take a look at Confession of a sewing addict. For example… what do you think about this deer hat as a present for your children, your nephews, your friends? And what about a matching bib?

Well, Martina created a beautiful tutorial that you can also download as a free pdf. Cute, isn’t it? Her blog is also in english so go visit her for more details!

In these last days I took back a bit my sewing machine.. unfortunately I am not able to dedicate to this activity as much time as I would like to,but days pass really fast and between my job and Nabiki I really have little time for everything else.

It is my intention in any case to prepare a notebook to keep in time in where I will insert all the small sewing and crafting projects I am (and I will) working on, keeping also and eventually re-drawing all the scheme and patterns necessary to repeat them.. the idea behind is to give this notebook to Nabiki once she will be older just in case she wants to try some of them..

So I bought a nice hard cover notebook and I sew for it a nice fabric cover… maybe in the future I will also add some decoration in the front facade, but for now it is already a step ahead…

I already wrote that I always had a passion for creative things but I started practicing every day the moment Nabiki was born (dunno why.. maybe is a “mum thing”… create something handmade and really special for your baby).

One of the first persons who supported me (especially with sewing because until that moment I did not even put a button on) was my mother in law.

One of the first present she gave me was this beautifil fabric heart that I hung up at the little room door (of course I am not so good in embroider this is why I bought a sewing machine that does embroidery for me ;-) )

Do you also want one? No problem because you can prepare one for yourself very easily…

On paper draw a heart shape and then cut it so that you can use it as a pattern. Then draw the heart on a double piece of your favorite fabric.

With your machine, sew along the heart border leaving a small opening of 2-3 cm so that you can turn the heart inside out. Cut the heart, fill it and sew handly the last piece. If you want to hang it up, also sew a ribbon on top of it.
